The Warm House Awaits
Hello beloved readers,
I’ve been sharing a lot lately about moving through difficult times and difficult emotions. From all the responses I receive, it’s clear that many people are finding these kinds of emails helpful.
So I plan to send emails out a little more frequently, knowing that for people going through deep challenges, the right words at the right moment can truly be a lifeline.
As always, invite friends and family who would benefit from these emails to subscribe. It’s such a gift to me when you invite more people into my community of readers. And consider becoming a paid subscriber if you haven’t already!
This morning, I wanted to buoy you with the most stunning words my wise and wonderful friend Natasha shared with me, as I’ve recently been navigating a challenging emotional storm (with incredible support from my partner and some other loved ones). Natasha texted me the following:
“Storms are always scary, especially when the water is just pouring down and it’s windy too. It makes it hard to see even! Sometimes when it gets like that I find myself getting soaked to the bone and there’s absolutely nothing I can do to stop it. But eventually I get home, and then it’s warm again ❤”
If you find yourself in the middle of a storm of any kind, I hope these words remind you that one day you’ll be back in the warm house. It’s only a matter of time. And perhaps the warm house will feel even sweeter than before, now that you more deeply know what it is to have been drenched by the rain.
If you are supporting loved ones through the storm– no matter how hard it sometimes can be– I hope you remember that there is nothing more sacred in this world, than helping someone lost, find their way back home.
I’ll leave you today with this quote that’s on the back of the wonderful book Always Remember written by Charlie Mackesy.
“One day you’ll look back and realize how hard it was and just how well you did”.
Sending so much love to everyone reading this, whether you are flourishing or still haven’t been able to get yourself out of bed. You are all precious and beautiful exactly as you are.
Ari
